Looking for a Cognos / Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. In this role, person should have a background in data and business analysis. Selected person should be analytical and an excellent communicator. Responsibilities

    Translate business needs to technical specifications.

    Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools).

    Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. Cognos/Power BI)

    Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes).

    Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.

    Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.

    Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.

    Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.

    Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.

    Develop and update technical documentation.

Requirements and skills

    Exp-4+ Yrs

    Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist.

    Industry experience is preferred.

    Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and familiarity with data mining.

    In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.

    Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI).

    Strong knowledge of SQL queries, Stored Procedures, Queries Optimization, SQL Profiler, SQL Agents & Jobs, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

    Strong knowledge of Cognos Framework Manager & Cognos reporting.

    Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.

    Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.

    Tech/M. Sc./ MCA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.

Job Description:

Provide analysis, Perform system/architectural design, project planning, and coding. Design, develop, and implement client/server business application software using current information technology; Analyze systems, program, develop, test and troubleshoot sophisticated software applications under direct supervision; Provide technical assistance to other team members; Convert project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for configuring into computer language; Design and develop software engineering projects; Evaluate user requirements for new or modified program; Consult with users/management to identify current operating procedures and program objectives; Formulate plan outlining steps required to develop program, using structured analysis and design; write program code, use development tools or otherwise develop the application to meet the project specifications and requirements; Design screen interfaces for the user to interact with the program; and Compile documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.

• Experience in T SQL development & MSBI

• Strong technical skills with PL SQL, Stored procedures, Functions,

• T-SQL / Stored Procedure development on MS SQL database

• Should be able to handle performance optimization tasks (Ex – Indexing, Partitioning, Parallelization)

• Experience with Reporting tools (ex. - Crystal Reports and SQL Reporting Services)

• Mandatory - Good understanding of Microsoft SSIS, SSRS development and deployment

• SSAS knowledge would be nice to have

• Capability to deploy the SSIS pkgs using catalog scripts and monitor jobs scheduled jobs

• Knowing how to send alert and failure notifications for scheduled SSIS and Jobs

• Experience working with and configuring data-driven applications

• Understanding of translation between multiple file formats

• Ability to use scripting languages, ETL tools and methodologies to map data between various formats

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent working knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016-2019
